Pit Bulls are highly energetic dogs. Training is an ongoing process. As a rule, Pit Bulls take to training sessions and enjoy the challenge and quality time spent with the owner greatly.

Socialization in Pit Bull puppies is vital. You are recommended to socialize your dog with as many other dogs as possible. The socialization process must be slow and careful. Never leave the Pit Bull unattended while it is close to other dogs. If the dogs can't be supervised, they should be separated from each other. It is necessary to understand that many people might have had some negative experience with Pit Bulls or have been influenced by the mass media Pit Bull images.

Research this breed. The Pit Bull's owners need it even more than owners of any other dog breed. Beware of the areas where your Pit Bull may meet loose running dogs. Having to break up a dogfight is unpleasant and stressful. Some Pit Bull owners are advised to carry a special parting stick to use in such cases. Keeping Pit Bulls leashed in public in order to prevent dog fighting is a necessity as well.
